The subject must be separated froni a Twelve hours, a Ten Or an Eight hour Bilf, to which in fact it is only appended as a rme for the purpose of gaining adherents, ft must stand on its' own m'erits, --and have special provisions for its general enforcement, and not as-it now does, tend only to make the machinery of a vexatious Act, more complicated, but less useful. The writer is glad to find his own views, which are founded Solely upon experience, confirmed by the experience of others. In that admirable compendium of evidence taken by the Factory Commissioners in Manchester and its vicinity, we have the testimony of several classes of men whose professions place' them beyond suspicion, and of persons whose employments necessarily give them a personal insight into the whole details of the case. Clergymen both tf the established and dissenting churches, medical men of long and extensive practice, operatives of both sexes, (seven of whom had worked in Cotton Mills froni twenty-five to fifty-three years respectively), guardians of the poor, and the talented Commission? themselves, a)I unite in giving separate and distinct statement's upon Oatli, tending to establish the same facts.
